The process of employee promotions, demotions, lateral moves and other type of job changes for salary and hourly employees is driven by the HR department as employee movement transactions.
Prior to automation, the HR team had to manually identify job change requests from the email box, navigate to the portal, find the pending review forms, and validate the information in the HR system to process the employee movement request from end to end with each request taking 25 to 42 minutes depending on whether the employee is hourly or salary. The team had to handle a volume of 10 to 15 requests every day. This required the attention of 6 full-time employees, spending up to 10+ hours combined on a daily basis, to manually validate and update the HR data in the system. Due to the high-volume, error-prone and time-consuming nature of this process, it was selected as an ideal candidate for RPA.
