Learn how Kryon helped Optus carry out 80,000 successful National Broadband Network transactions, ranging from feasibility to fulfillment to completion. Orders that would traditionally take 4 days can now be completed in one.
Optus is the second-largest telecommunications company in Australia and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singaporean company Singtel. The company primarily trades under the Optus brand, while maintaining several wholly-owned subsidiary brands, such as Virgin Mobile Australia in the mobile telephony market, Uecomm in the network services market, and Alphawest in the ICT services sector.
When demand for Optus’ NBN services sky-rocketed the Wholesale unit experienced an immediate and aggressive need to realign its operating models to support the growth. The Wholesale unit identified RPA as being a highly viable option that would enable it to save on large amounts of operational expenses caused by recruiting 15 extra employees.
The Wholesale unit has launched 19 major automated processes, including order processing, provisioning, and completion, billing, reporting, SQ and quoting, service assurance, and revenue assurance – with another 14 processes being assessed for automation feasibility. Currently, Optus is using 7 Kryon Robots at 75% utilization and is going to scale with 14 extra robots as they continually release new content and solutions.
- Time savings of 70% in NBN order processing
- Manpower savings of nearly 80%
