Bancolombia is the leading financial group in Colombia, and one of the largest in Latin America. Their RPA program is not an isolated activity but it is a key component of the corporate strategy. 

They have 3 main pillars. The Managers of Bancolombia wanted their teams to be more related to more strategic, more demanding activities, not only repetitive tasks. They also wanted to deliver the best customer experience for their clients, and they wanted to enhance their processes avoiding human errors.

Bancolombia started with the first stage, which they called “the discovery”. In that stage, they wanted to really answer one question of whether automation is applicable to their company. They lost 6 months trying to find tools, find capabilities that they needed to incorporate into their organization and in the end, of course, the answer was “yes”. This is the way they want to go and they want to do it with Automation Anywhere.

So, then Bancolombia moved to the second phase, which they called “the lab”. In that stage, they wanted to implement the first robot. And actually, they implemented around 22 processes that were intervened in order to enhance the efficiency and capabilities that they had on those traditional processes.

And then they moved to the third stage, in which they are still by the moment of that interview, and that stage is “the
multiplication”. What they are trying to do with RPA and RDA is trying to move forward with more processes, more client issues, more internal user issues. Bancolombia needs to emphasize their work with RPA and RDA, but they are looking forward to moving to their IQ Bot, and of course, Automation Anywhere is a key partner for Bancolombia on that because they want to move from the old robots that they have right now into a more cognitive capacity, incorporating artificial intelligence into their processes. This is what they see in the future and of course, scaling the program because this is a very huge company and the team wants to go as far as they can (in terms of intervening processes and guaranteeing the best customer experience for Bancolombia’s clients).
