As for Leaders, these are the following RPA vendors: UiPath, Pegasystems, SS&C Blue Prism, and Automation Anywhere.
The report stated, “UiPath is a strong fit for organizations with a priority in RPA and the ambition to extend toward broader enterprise automation as they gain experience.” The report also noted, “UiPath prioritizes enterprise automation with a superior platform offering… Today, UiPath is not only the largest RPA software vendor by revenue but has also evolved from an RPA pure play into what it refers to as a business automation platform. Over the past few years, it has added capabilities such as process mining, intelligent document processing, API integration, and low-code app development to its product, thereby turning it into an automation platform.”
SS&C Blue Prism
The report, authored by Dr. Bernard Schaffrik, principal analyst at Forrester, states, “Blue Prism was formerly known as an RPA pure play, but its acquisition by SS&C and subsequent increase in R&D investment have turned it into an automation platform that still leverages RPA as a core technology. It [SS&C Blue Prism] now approaches its customers’ automation needs from a business process perspective.” Further, the report states, “Strategically, SS&C Blue Prism plans to continue implementing its IP from the combination of the former SS&C and Blue Prism product sets in its joint platform to deliver a best-in-class automation platform.”
The report states, “Pegasystems provides a seamless automation lifecycle experience. RPA vendors are incrementally transitioning into automation platform vendors, driven by their clients’ appetite to scale automation. Since its inception, Pegasystems has maintained a relentless focus on its scalable architecture and a platform approach to application and automation development. Both priorities are coming in handy now. Going forward, it plans to build on its strengths and continue investing in scalability and the breadth and depth of its platform.”
