The CNBC Disruptor 50 was selected by CNBC and CNBC.com editorial staff using a proprietary blend of quantitative and qualitative information submitted by the nominated companies and data partners. Now in its eighth year, the CNBC Disruptor 50 represents an array of forward-thinking, innovative, ambitious companies advancing the most significant disruptive technology trends that have been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, from telemedicine to virtual learning, to food delivery.
Here is why UiPath was included into the list:
UiPath is adding more than 10 new enterprise customers per day. Customers include Uber, Pandora, Equifax, HP, McDonald’s, the United States Department of Agriculture, and Virgin Media. The company is also committed to training, up-skilling, and re-skilling all generations of workers. It has cultivated a thriving community of nearly 750,000 RPA developers worldwide.
The goal of UiPath is to move humans away from this work and allow them to focus on things that bring more value to a company. Investors see great promise in this: UiPath has raised a whopping $977.2 million in funding from investors, including Coatue, Dragoneer, Sands Capital, and Wellington, giving it a valuation of around $7 billion. The company claims to have annual revenues of about $360 million and more than 6,300 customers, including Amazon, Bank of America, and Verizon. It says 50% of Fortune 20 companies are clients.
