Have you ever had to visit a website daily or weekly to monitor certain information, such as inventory updates, new project bids, or job opportunities that may require web scraping in high frequency and volume? Robotic Process Automation is the perfect tool to help you become highly productive in repeatable tasks.
In this demo, you’ll see how RPA can help you automate online content monitoring and web scraping. In this particular example, we’ll use vendors looking to identify new requests for proposals from U.S. government agencies at SAM.gov.
Before showing you how the robots would automate this repetitive process, let’s look at how the humans do it first. Usually, an employee would be monitoring the sam.gov website daily to identify contract opportunities within the government. The employee would need to open the SAM.gov website, input all the search filters needed, copy the results, and put them into an excel report. Once the excel file is populated and formatted correctly, the employee would email the report to all relevant stakeholders based on the various search terms used. By automating this process, a robot will be able to perform the same tasks daily end-to-end and send the report.
Let’s see the robot in action…
